"Thankful Tuesday"

The stigma of mental health therapy is one of the biggest hurdles for African American men in need. We have been active over the last year using media to reduce the stigma of mental health therapy for African American men. On August 18th at 2PM, Laverne Williams, from The Mental Health Association of NJ and the PEWS will present the short drama-based film “The Stoic Man” as part of “Thankful Tuesday”, followed by discussion.
“Thankful Tuesday” is an online, hour discussion space for mental wellness and health issues. It is a safe space shaped in response to COVID-19’s impact and restrictions. The voices include therapists, activists, community leaders and people seeking direction for their wellness,
“The Stoic Man” is 14 minutes long. It includes commentary by Dr. Willard Ashley and Malik Carey, author and CEO of The Family Healing Center. I hope you will be able to offer your voice to the discussion. That is “Thankful Tuesday” August 18th at 2PM. Here again, is the link:
